The objective of Xycol :
Xycol (xylos = wood and colligo =  to put together) aims at putting at everyone's disposal data on woody ligneous (wood, trees, shrubs) with the help of  nomenclature (scientific, vernacular, foreign, indigenuous terms, the most important name) and of a xylotheque. Data comprehends ligneous types of wood of a height  well above two metres high. Liana, cactacee, palm trees, ferns, bamboos, banana trees, cultivars, hybrides, under-species, yearly plants and herbaceous are not being treated apart from a few exceptions.

'Searching the name of a ligneous:''It is the most efficient starting point in order to find the base. On can click on a scientific name (type, species), a vernacular term (pilote name, original name &c), or a specific part of a term (syllabus, letter). For example, type 'ama%' in order to find the file 'amarante'.

'Families':
This page enables us to look for the file containing ligneous belonging to a specific group, taking into account the Latin name of that particular group.

'Xylotheque':
This page contains all the files for ligneous plants containing a form of wood, classified by default and by scientific term or by pilote name.
